Being Independent & Lessons Learned

I have been a regular visitor to chennai since 2007 but the travel has always been fairly easy & comfortable in cars .And I always used to love the busy and alive city for no reason. There was something new- whether it is road side shopping of T-Nagar or whole sale market hub sowcarpet or the crowded marina beach. But everything was easy and accessible because of the people around me.

Hence to add a little spice to my life I decided to come out from the comfort zone and decided to roam around and see places. The first time to travel in an MTC bus from Nungambakkam to Anna nagar and back to velachery ((Hub of IT Indusries)).

The total seat capacity in an MTC bus  is 25 ; 48 standees plus  a driver & conductor. And to my surprise I traveled during the peak hour & here is a look  at the bus

Still the bus stops in many places and I wonder where to get in ???Inclusive of those hanging outside the bus has definitely crossed the standards

And here are few lessons that I learned from my Travel

Lessons 1 -Never travel in an MTC at least during the peak hours when you have better options like share autos and especially when you have to reach on time in Office

Lesson 2 - Ladies, always hold one hand to the rail but definitely the other on your handbag because you never know when/who/how will pick pocket your bag.

Lesson 3 -Always come and stand in front of the door at-least 3 stops ahead to get down otherwise you might get Jam packed inside the crowd.

Lesson 4- Be prepared to run in any direction to get into the bus  because the bus never stops at a proper bus stop .
